Honors Choir
The 4th period class is the Honors Choir. In period 4, we are working on a "Bright Island Groove" called "We Dance" written by Stephen Flaherty, as well as the famous Simon and Garfunkel piece "The Sound of Silence." Mr. Beatty has also started incorporating more jazz/pop type music and every Friday, 4th period spends at least half the class jamming out to "On Broadway." Some of our multi-talented intrumental chorus students get on the guitars, drums, or keyboard while the rest of the students sing the lyrics or brave singing alone in improv.
Concert Choir
The 6th period class is the level 1 concert choir. The period 6 class is working on a version of the Star Spangled Banner as well the old classic "New York, New York." Mr. Beatty is teaching them not to be scared to sing alone and make mistakes because that's how singing is learned.
